CAG Cagliari Airport

Hand luggage and liquids

Most airlines only let you bring a free bag that fits under the seat; a cabin trolley often costs extra. Enter your bag's size to see where it fits. At Cagliari the 100 ml liquids rule still applies.

Liquids at Cagliari security

  • Each container 100 ml or less, even if half empty: the size printed on the label counts.
  • All containers in one transparent resealable plastic bag of up to 1 litre (about 20×20 cm).
  • One bag per passenger, taken out and placed in the tray at security.

Liquids include drinks, creams, gels, toothpaste, mascara, sprays, perfume, sauces, spreads, honey and food in oil. Solid lipstick, stick deodorant and bar soap do not count.

Exceptions: medicines needed during the trip, baby milk and food, and special dietary food, even over 100 ml. Show them separately at security.

On your way back, the rules of your departure airport apply. Some airports with new scanners accept larger containers; many do not.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring liquids over 100 ml at Cagliari Airport?

No. As of our last check (2 novembre 2026) Cagliari is not among the Italian airports cleared by ENAC to accept larger containers. Each container must be 100 ml or less, all in one transparent resealable 1-litre bag.

Can I take Sardinian food home in my hand luggage?

Hard cheese, cured meats, carasau bread and dry sweets are fine. Myrtle liqueur (mirto), wine, olive oil and honey count as liquids: over 100 ml they must go in checked luggage, unless you buy them after security.
